Hey there! Nice to see you participating in Fido again :)

Glad to be back. :) Its funny how much of the stuff I had forgot how to do. Found myself having to read manuals and specs again. LOL

One of the things I loved about InterEcho was that it had
    support for Wildcat!
4.x message bases -- something that I hope will remain as
    it would allow me to
    ditch PX/DOS like a bad habit :)

Yep, v4 should remain if I can get the third party toolbox updated to run in Windows 32/64. Unless you prefer the DOS version of InterEcho, then it can remain with no issue. :)

    Dale,

Yep, v4 should remain if I can get the third party toolbox updated to run in DB>Windows 32/64. Unless you prefer the DOS version of InterEcho, then it can DB>remain with no issue. :)

I remember having a neat display with the color selections for both.
Since Synchronet has its own tosser, I don't use my DOS versions of
InterMail and InterEcho...but still have my registered copies in case I
need them at a later date.

Well WinServer is up to v7 but I don't think they've made any changes to database since v4, but I do not know for sure. Robert do you know?

I will have to check with Santronics to find out.

    since the v5 release.

The SDK is sadly outdated. I know Joe Martin ported and update the C# structures.

As I stated in an older posting, the database formats changed from v4 to v5
and higher. They even changed from v5 to v6.

Ok, I have the code now so have to review it and play with it. If easy to use, I can include this when I release WinToss (windows tosser) since it was built for a larger number of BBS systems. I just have to build out the wrappers to use the WC api's.

I've been able to get OS/2 Warp 4.52 and eCS 1.2MR to run under a VMware Player VM successfully so there shouldn't be any problems with ArcaOS
since it's basically just an updated version of Warp 4.52 (MCP2).

Mine runs fine in both vmware fusion on mac and decently on vmware player (but my 4k display makes the os window small, but tha't just because vmware is lame on high res displays)

Did you have to tweak VMWare? I thought OS/2 did some things that made it hard to virtualize.

I can't remember now but Virtualbox was much better as you are correct about OS/2: it uses some archaic CPU functions that VMware doesn't emulate correctly.

Yes, out of 1100 nodes we only had about 66 folks respond. Not sure if they did not want to or did not know about it. Will get the results posted as a CSV
file and folks can download it and review what exists this weekend. I left it

I have been so busy with being caregiver for my elderly Mom during the
day (a visiting nurse does actual physical care), then with ham radio
traffic nets at night, that some days, the only things I do with the BBS
is update the ham radio and weather data, and read messages...if I'm
lucky. Everything else has to wait.

I do all of her driving, shopping, banking, phone calls, scheduling, appointment keeping, computer work, etc. She doesn't go out for doctors appointments, grocery shopping, etc. UNLESS I am doing the driving,
helping her in and out of the car, and to a place to sit, while I do the
    rest.

When I shop while she's at home, I don't have to worry about her
snagging the candy or donuts...although I wasn't paying attention this
last time, and darn it, she snagged the donuts that were "calling her
    name". <G>
