So instead you took up the fiddle (sorry about calling your violin a fiddle). Did you ever get up on the roof to play it?Have you played the music of Fiddler on the Roof?

So. Yes, I've played the music of Fiddler on the Roof,
most recently a month or two ago. No, I've never played
it from a roof. In fact, I've heard of that song being
performed from a (mockup of a) roof once, when my friend
Stanley Silverman did it at North Shore Music Theatre -
he's done it only once on a roof but several times safely
in an orchestra pit. I have heard of other productions
where an image of someone playing on a roof was projected,
but that seems kind of hokey.
