We've paid for plastic bags here in Ontario for a number of years
now. What's funny though? The 5 cents they charge per bag is still cheaper then buying a package of garbage bags.

They are 25 cents here. The store gets 5 cents and the government
    20. And I'm OK with that. It's enough to make most people change
their habits and bring their own cloth bags to the store.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Dilled Green Tomatoes
    Categories: Preserving, Vegetables
    Yield: 1 gallon

    1 qt Green tomatoes
    1 Clove garlic
    1 Celery stalk
    10 Strips green pepper
    1 Spray dill
    1 qt Vinegar
    1/2 c Pickling salt

Select small, firm green tomatoes or cherry tomatoes. Pack the
tomatoes into sterilized jars and to each quart jar add 1 clove
peeled garlic, 1 stalk celery, several strips of green pepper and
a large spray of dill. Bring to a boil 2 quarts of water, 1 quart
vinegar, and 1/2 cup pickling salt and boil for 5 minutes. Pour
the hot brine over the vegetables in the jar and seal. The
pickles will be ready to us in about 4 weeks. Hot red pepper,
celery seed and mustard see may be added to the vinegar mixture.

    MMMMM

    Cheers

    Jim

We've been using the brown paper bags, and then reusing them until they
wear out, for years... When Wegmans started having the reusable bags
available, we started our collection of those, which we usually use
now.... The first few we got for free, with a special coupon from the
store.... and only being 99c, we've bought a few more over the years... They're handy for packing other things as well as being used for
    groceries... ;)

... I added chili powder; that's what makes it Mexican.
