Hence my grin... (G) Lots of people around here love Tim Horton's,
too, actually... just not everyone... ;) We also have too many Starbucks, so obviously some people around here must love them, too...
I can drink Starbucks, but only if someone else is buying. I'm too
    "frugal" for them. ;)

I have the hardest time with Starbuck's,
see above. The taste of burn and rot is
way too strong. To me that brand is the
epitome of the emperor's new clothes.

... "If anybody sets fire to this city, it's going to be _ME_."
    Channeling Nero, are you....? ;)
I was! I still want to if that means anything? ;)

Speaking of emperors (a certain amount of
    nonconfrontational noncontroversial offtopic
is allowed here), I have to step up to defend
    both Nero and fiddles.

The story that Nero played the fiddle while Rome burned
conjures up images of the emperor, dramatically backlit
by the flames from the burning city, alone, calmly playing
his fiddle while his people cried out in suffering.

To the contrary, Nero actually did take immediate and
expansive measures to provide relief for his citizens.
He rushed back to the city when news of the fire reached
him at his palace at Antium, on the outskirts of Rome.
The historian Tacitus, who was a boy in Rome during the
blaze, provides accounts of the steps Nero took in the
midst of the fire. The emperor himself coordinated fire
fighting efforts on the first night. He also opened the
public buildings and his own gardens as temporary shelter
for homeless residents. Nero imported grain from nearby
cities and supplied his citizens with food at a fraction
    of the normal cost.

I'm on United flight 240 as I type:

    Crab cakes with lemon-horseradish sauce
    categories: shellfish, airline, main, starter
    servings: 4 or 8

    h - for the sauce
    1 c mayo
    1 Tb prepared white horseradish
    1 Tb lemon zest
    2 Tb apple cider
    coarse-ground pepper tt
    sea salt tt
h - for the crab cakes
    1 lb jumbo lump crab
1/4 c white onion, diced small
1/4 c red bell pepper, diced small
    4 Tb olive oil
    5 Tb panko
    1/4 c mayo
    2 ts seafood seasoning
    1 ts granulated garlic
    1 ts Dijon mustard
    1 ts Worcestershire
1 ts red hot pepper sauce
    1/4 ts celery salt
    1 ts lemon juice
    2 Tb minced fresh chives
    1 egg yolk, beaten
    1/4 ts fresh ground pepper
    1/4 ts salt

    Whisk all sauce ingredients together.

Pick over crab gently, removing hard bits.

Wilt vegetables in 1 Tb oil. Off heat,
combine with all ingredients except the
remaining oil, making sure not to break
    apart large crab lumps.

Form mixture into 4 or 8 cakes.

Saute cakes in remaining oil 2 min on
each side or until lightly browned.

Transfer to 350F oven and cook 5 min.

    Serve with lemon-horeradish sauce.
