Inertia, which almost by definition is our default state,
ensures that this s the case.
My get up and go got up and went--without me. (G)
There's a bunch of that going around, or at least sitting
    around.
Happens to the best of us at times.

So my room is taken over by Bonnie's son, and my
workspace routine is all messed up, so the just
sitting around is worse than usual.

They (Wegman's) seem to have done a good job of it so far. Keeping
it as > a family owned business has probably helped there.
That's true. I wonder what would happen to the company if
    a subsequent generation cashed out.
Hopefully won't happen in our lifetime.

One hopes not for a good long while, but it's
not up to us. At this point the publicity of
such a move would be seriously adverse, but who
knows what idiocy lurks in the hearts of the next
    generation?

    control fire. So far in the neighborhood nothing really bad;
the destructive stuff has been north of home - part of it
is that there is relatively little brush left.
Not a pleasant thought; I've seen on the news how bad they have been, especially the last few years. It's downright scary how fast they can
move, and change directions so abruptly.

The computer simulations give an idea, but there
are so many variables, each infinitely changeable.
We got out of there for a while even though the
probability was maybe in the single digits; once
or twice I've been there in times of higher risk -
the San Pasqual fire last year got within 2 miles of
the house, and there have been others fairly close
so you could see and/or smell the smoke. In years
past we chose the Westin Carlsbad because it was
near enough the ocean, plus people generally didn't
think of going to a fancy resort in times of fire
danger, so the prices were reasonable, plus Lilli
was Starwood Platinum at the time.

I wasn't sure what the refernce to Sean was.
Sean, I believe, did some of that kind of work
at one point. I could be mistaken.
    We'll see what he says.
I think he mentioned it once.
OK, and maybe we'll see him next year at the picnic.

I hope so, but his batting average is zero so far!

We had no choice in the matter--eat them! They always ran
    into the > ML> I meant 2008 tomatoes in 2019.
Don't know what sort of shape the jars/lids would be in at this
    point.
That's why I said I'd be perfectly willing to try them.
I wouldn't if the jar lids were rusted.

I'd draw the line at rusted through.

mashed potatoes and meat, making a mess of everything. We
were never > ML> That's how new dishes get invented!
Not with my mom's cooking. (G)
Sometimes interesting things can come of modest beginnings.
And sometimes great ingredients combine into something horrible.

So what would that be used for, other than a frou-frou drink?

    Another frou-frou drink.
