    green tea version of KitKats...?
I forget where those Kit Kats came from, but I'd guess Asia
someplace. If I got them in 2011, probably Tokyo; in 2015, more
    likely Australia.
Could have been Yellowknife! My Loblaws carries them.

Could perhaps have been, but if so they
weren't from me. Did you send a package to
the echo pic in '15 (I looked it up, and
they appeared on the Shipps' table that year)?

Green tea shows up in all sorts of places these days besides teacups.

I've seen ads for Grun-Tee-Eis in a lot of
    shop windows lately.

    Matcha Ice Cream (No Machine)
    categories: Japanese, Irish, dessert
    yield: 1 qt

14 oz sweetened condensed milk, cold
    2 c whipping cream, cold
    1 ts vanilla extract (opt)
3 Tb Matcha green tea powder

Place sweetened condensed milk in the fridge to
    keep cold.

Beat cold heavy cream on medium in a stand mixer
fitted with the whisk attachment (or using a
hand mixer) until stiff peaks form.

Turn down the speed a little and pour the
condensed milk into the whipped cream. (Stir
in vanilla extract now if desired).

Turn up the machine speed again and whip
until your mixture is thick and to stiff peaks.

Now that you have your ice cream base add your
Matcha green tea powder and mix on medium speed
until the mixture is an even mint green color.

Transfer your ice cream to a large resealable
container and freeze 6 hr to overnight before
    scooping and serving.

I vaguely remember sending some sort of Canadian candy bar to him
prior to a picnic some time ago, maybe 2014. Something made by
Cadbury that isn't sold in the USA. Cadbury Fruit & Nut bars maybe.

Despite the name, not quite the same thing...
