splitting a drink makes sense. I tend to drink
Just that neither of us drank a lot of soda. As it was we generally
    threw some
    away.

I've evolved away from asking them to half fill
my cup to going for refills. Today's wonder was
Schweppes Bitter Lemon, which is twice as sweet
as it used to be (I'd thought that was only the
American version, but it seems not), and I liked
    it that way.

Mmm - what happened to the glass, did the
    thugs break it?
No, they took the cheap one and left the expensive one, criminals sometimes express poor choices in taste. In my own defense I can say...I'm not a
    crook.

You can say that, and the evidence shows that
your thugs were just ordinary thugs, but remember
the Vermeer heist in Boston a quarter century
ago. There are exceptions to most rules.

I just didn't know where on the wall, relative to windows, I'm gonna
    put it and
don't want it to fade. Pretty sure now, again. Got a new/used one late Tuesday, via FedEX from Pennsylvania, and took it in today for a new frame, didn't like the condition of the frame (fake distressed wood and I have
    enough
real, unfortunately really, distressed wood anyhow), the mat is OK so I'm keeping it, and swap out the glass for UV, same reason as the other.
    Should be
getting both of them back on the 27th-29th of this month. Which means
    I'll be
wanting to re-hang 6 of the 7 big prints in the condo. It was a given,
    they're
all using only a single hook, earthquake zone...gimmee double hooks
    please.
Got some good white toothpaste to patch with, travelsize, tested it on
    some of
my other multiple hangings. Perils of not having another set of
    eyeballs to
    correct placement.

Wait until Lilli shows up - she's fairly sensitive
to off-kilterness. Not so much as Gail Shipp, but
    reasonably close.

    Title: Bittersweet Temptation
    Categories: Desserts
    Yield: 2 servings

    175 g Creme fraiche
    1 Tb Orange marmalade
    Whisky (optional)
    Icing sugar

The unusual flavour of orange marmalade balances the fresh creaminess of
creme fraiche, heightened if you like with a little whisky. The dessert
is frozen lightly just before serving - and it is temptation indeed.

Whisk the creme fraiche and stir in the marmalade. Lace with a little
whisky, to taste, if desired. Put into two little dishes and freeze
lightly - about 1 hr. Sprinkle with a little icing sugar before
    serving.

OK. I'll plop the refurbished ones in the corner and pull down the other 5. Then we can spend an exciting afternoon doing interior decorating things, while
she watches with mirth and most likely conflicting directions.

Went down to the lake today...got the propane hooked up, turned it on and verified things fired off, turned it off. Since the pressure switch for the well feels like it's under no pressure...it won't perform and turn the pump off. Soooo...I'll get a new switch to put on it. Which means...I couldn't make any soapy water to check for gas leaks. Next time I'll bring some water with me. I would have done it today, but I'm not much for advanced preparation
and thinking gives me a headache. Had a nice visitor while I was there...black cat (had a collar and tags) wandered in and spent about half an hour telling me how badly the place needs to be cleaned, smelling/rubbing/rolling everything (including me below the knees), probably a residual PITA reaction. I chased he/she/it off when it decided to sharpen it's
claws, or leaving yet another type of claim on the homestead, on the back of the sofa. I was careful to make sure it was out before I locked things up since I won't be back until...probably Wednesday at the earliest. Discovered the fridge, actually freezer, is fully stocked. Baggie with about 3 oz of dried porcini mushrooms in it, I bought 2 lbs a couple of years ago, gave 1 away and spread the other around places I inhabit, I'll bring beer next trip and that will take care of provisioning.
