From MICHAEL LOO@1:123/140 to NANCY BACKUS on Sunday, July 22, 2018 09:09:36
Probably a wise idea.... as long as there are other drivers to pick up
the slack.... Is her blood pressure coming under control...?
There are a couple such, but they're inconvenient
or have other defects. Such as living an hour away
and/or talking from the driver's seat with both
hands gesturing and away from the wheel, and/or
being almost as blind as me. Don't know about the
    second issue.
Hmmm.... those don't sound like such great choices, true.... Hope the
blood pressure resolves sufficiently for the surgery to be safely
    done....

But her travel schedule os filling up!
    Priorities, you know.

The proximity of 76 and 77 is a coincidence,
the even numbers being east-west and the odd
being north-south. By convention, there is a
progression of numbers from west to east and
from south to north, with 99 being an exception
enacted by Congress as sponsored by some self-
    important halfwit or other.
Ok, I finally found I-77 and I-79... they're both way farther west, in
Ohio and a bit in western PA around Pittsburgh... why would I-99
logically be an extension of either of those...? I'm not sure on what
    the conventions are, anyway... :)

More sensible than 81 or 83, which are both
already pretty set in their ways. As I recall
77 and 79 have nothing in the latitude covered
by future 99. One might have called it 680 or
    something, though.

Neither. After weathering some hard times, the
flavor continues to this day. The reason for my
dislike is not Paterno's stonewalling in favor of
a child molestor (which people suspected but could
not prove) but his winner-takes-all Vince
    Lombardiish attitude (winning isn't everything,
it's the only thing, that kind of nonsense).
So he's never been so peachy.... ;) Does the confection continue to be tasty....?

Well, shortly after he waa fired by Penn State
and the NCAA stripped the school of most of the
victories won under his coachship (actions I
recall later rescinded), he kicked off.

As far as the ice cream goes, I seldom had it,
never after his fall from grace.

Maps are generally useful... when they exist... :) Are there decent
    maps for the southern hemisphere....?
There are, some of them actually with the
southern hemisphere up top. No such resides in
    my head, however.
Hard to keep them all straight, in any case.... :)

Getting one's bearings is harder without proper
    frames of reference.

Politeness to the doctor has not been sufficient reason for me to give
in to what I'm sure is a bad call.... :) Sometimes one just has to
    stand firm...
I was moderately sure that that concession
wouldn't kill me, and if it maimed me, I could
be made mostly whole by litigation.
I can almost follow that line of thinking, except for the litigation
part, being very non-litigious... one might even say litigation
    adverse... ;)

Chances are I'd not actually do it unless I
    figured someone deserved the lesson.
