foraging is possible even in urban environments.
Of a different sort, one would think. (G)
You'd be surprised. I have found lamb's quarters, sage,
wormwood, edible mushrooms, and a fair number of other
    tasty things in city settings.
Just in my own yard I can find wild strawberries, raspberries,
gooseberries, low bush cranberries and red currants along with
dandelions, mint, yarrow, rosehips and fireweed. A forager friend of

In our more temperate climes, greeny things are easy
to find; fruits not so much, as the competition from
avians and lowbush mammals is likely to be fierce.

What's fireweed good for (it's not easy to find here
until you get out of the city - there's plenty beside
    rural roads and whatnot).

mine identified 35 different edible or medicinal things on the
grounds of the Legislative Assembly and the park beside city hall
    right downtown.

Not at all a surprise. Part of it is that our ideas
    of what's edible are dictated by the supermarkets;
part of it is that we can't be bothered to stop and
    smell the marigolds.
