You do have some interesting associates.... :)

Oil barons, car salesmen (used and new), Grammy winners,
disgraced politicians, thieves, Nobelists, genius grant
winners, and at least one murderer.

Are they available only in ridiculous bulk? Fresh
are always better, though chiles do freeze okay.
No... when it's Hatch season, the chilies are available in a number of forms, from piles of the fresh peppers (in both medium and hot
varieties, to packages of pre-roasted ones, to various things that
they've been baked or cooked or mixed into... In years past, I'd bought
Interesting. I wonder what the relationship is between Weggie's
    and the Hatch association.
Good question... It could be from some sort of association, or even a
family connection.... one never knows.... Wegmans started out as a fruit
and vegetable stand back in the last century, maybe before even...

I don't recall seeing big displays of Hatch chiles
elsewhere and wonder what the affinity might be between
    New York and New Mexico.

As I recall, Annie got me many bags once, and when I
vacated my Revere apartment I still had a bag or two
    left in the freezer.
It's not something that would be used every day, after all... ;)

Not really, and I was living alone, and when I cooked,
it was usually something pretty quick.

So apparently you do have some degree of it...
Truth be told, I don't know what it is or whether I
have any if there's such a thing. Sort of like genius
    or clairvoyancy.
Sometimes that's just the way it is.... ;)

It seems to have gone between a vaguely interesting
high-school science project to some modern shibboleth.

So it's three weeks with Glen (relatively good condition
though accident prone), Kevin (leg lost due to diabetes
and alcoholism), Lilli (various age-related complaints),
and Esther (polio). Perhaps you should be thankful! that
    you're not among this crowd.
Perhaps. ;) Enjoy your visits, though... :)
In the midst of the trip I can say that it's been quite
    enjoyable so far.
    That's good... :)

Glen sends greetings to the echo, as does Leonore Scott.
Kevin might, if he weren't so addled as to have forgotten
everything except that we're a bunch of "old barstids."
I havent found Greg - he is occupied with taking care of
Dorothy after her recent knee replacement.

Layer the apricots and caster sugar in a pan. Don't add any water. Put
it in the oven. heat gently; the oven temperature should rise to no more
than moderate. Leave the apricots there for 3 hours. Bottle while hot
and seal. There should be enough caster sugar and apricot juice to fill
    the jars to the top.

This last year, there was a lot less hoopla.. unless it happened when I
wasn't watching for some reason... or maybe the weather made for a
smaller crop, as was happening with other produce...

Yup... I recognize that scenario... ;)

Glen I used to message with when he was still on... I think I only saw
Kevin as a caller to Fidotel on occasion... But greetings back to Glen
(and Leonore, whom I don't think I've met)....

I havent found Greg - he is occupied with taking care of

A worthy occupation, though... Hope you can connect, though... :)
