Interesting. We see a lot of pickup trucks around our area,
but very seldom see any vans any more. Even more absent are
station wagons.
Minivans killed the station wagon and now SUVs are killing the
uloved and inderrated minivan. The only remaining station wagon
maker in North America and Asia is Suburu; everyone else gave up.

Coming soon to a plant on your continent:
U.S.-spec V60s begin production at Volvo's Torslanda factory in
Gothenburg by winter this year, reaching dealerships in the first
quarter of 2019 (the S60 will be built at Volvo's new assembly plant
in Charleston, S.C., which comes on line this fall). Both the T5 and
T6 will launch in two trim levels: Momentum, which comes standard with leather, power tailgate and four years of Volvo's On Call concierge
service, and Inscription, which adds LED fog lights, larger wheels,
Driftwood interior inlays and four-zone climate, among other things.

Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz still make a few luxury station wagons
but call them estate cars.
Volvo has sold six million wagons -- or estates, rancheras and kombis,
as they're labeled in other corners -- worldwide.
Elsewhere ---
Don't forget Jaguar - not built in North America but the Jaguar XF
Sportbrake is definitely a "station wagon".
As well as the equally European Ford Focus wagon --

Overall light trucks now make up 40% of the NA auto market, with
passenger cars at 33%, SUVs and crossovers 24%, and minvans 3%. In
my part of the world the sales ratios are more like: 50%, 16%, 33%
and 1%.
Manufacturers looooooove pick-em-up trucks. They sell for more money and
carry a much higher margin of profit than automobiles.
This isn't really truck-stop gravy. It doesn't give me heartburn.
