I don't think it's a substantially larger unit. It does have some form
of blue-tooth like capabilities and communicates with a bedside unit
which connects cellularly or wired (my choice) with the monitoring
centre - reporting occurrences and data the croakers deem necessary.

When I first got my Apnea sleep machine years ago, it had some sort of
modem in it that called home every so often to make sure that I was
using the machine and that I really needed it. I don't know exactly how
that worked because it did not use any of my internet systems. I
suspect that it was like a satelite phone. After about six months they
had me take that modem off and turn it in. I've kept the machine ever
since -- just getting periodic replacement of supplies such as the
    masks.

Not sure what qualifies these as being "Texas" other than that is where
David lived. OTOH, we had one of the varieties of Bush's beans last
night -- bourbon and brown sugar. They were pretty good and no fuss.
Bush has a lot of new flavors on the market.

    Title: Texas Baked Beans
    Categories: Vegetable
    Yield: 1 Servings

1 lb Dried navy beans, picked
    Over
8 oz Slab bacon, rind removed and
    Cut into 1/2-in dice
    1 lg Onion, coarsely chopped
    1 Red bell pepper, cored,
    Seeded, and cut into
    - 1/4 in dice
    1 Green bell pepper, cored,
    Seeded, and cut into
    - 1/4 -in dice
28 oz Plum tomatoes, drained and

    coarsely chopped
    (juice reserved)
1/2 lb honey-baked ham, cut into
    1/4 -in dice
    1/2 lb smoked pork chop
    1 c ketchup
    3/4 c dark-brown sugar
    1/4 c honey
    1/4 c dark molasses
    1 TB Worcestershire sauce
    1 ts dry mustard
    2 Granny Smith apples, peeled,
: cored, and cut in 1" cubes
    : salt (to taste)

Soak the beans in water to cover overnight. Drain and rinse several
    times.

In a large, heavy pot, place the beans and add enough water to cover
them by 2-inches. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium, and
simmer for 45 minutes or until the beans are just tender but nut
mushy, skimming off any foam that rises to top. Drain and reserve.

Preheat the oven to 350 degree F.

In another heavy, overproof pot, place the bacon. Cook the bacon over
low heat until the fat is just rendered -- do not brown the bacon.
Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside. Add the onion
and cook over low heat for 10 minutes or until wilted. Add the red
and green peppers and cook with onion, stirring, for 5 minutes more.
Add the beans and reserved bacon. Add all the remaining ingredients
except the apples, reserved tomato juice, and salt; gently fold
    together.

Cover and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours. Add the apples and
1/2 cup of the reserved tomato juice. Bake, uncovered, for 2 hours
more. Adjust the seasonings and serve hot and bubbly.

    Makes 6 to 8 servings.

I've got a C-pap machine which I no longer use. When I had the episode
with the diabetic coma and was in the body & fender anyway they did an
updated sleep study and determined that I no longer had sleep apnea.
Apparently it had been weight related. Now I sleep the night through, interrupted only by the hydraulic pressure in my bladder.

Except it's not his recipe. It's Shiela Lukins and AFAIK she was an East
Coast girl (born in Philly and died in Manhattan).

Other than the addition of apples it's pretty typical baked beenz.

    Title: Dirty Dave's Baked Beans
    Categories: Beans, Vegetables, Pork, Herbs
    Yield: 10 servings

    3 c White (Navy/Michigan) beans;
    - cooked w/bay leaves and
    - thyme
    1 lg Yellow onion; diced 1/8" *
    12 oz Red Gold ketchup
    2 tb Spicy brown mustard
1 c (packed) lt. brown sugar
    1/4 c Br'er Rabbit Molasses
    1 ts Cider Vinegar
    Salt & Pepper
    1/2 lb Thick sliced bacon

    * Using a Vidalia Onion Chopper (as seen on TV) or
similar with the 1/8" plate really speeds this along.

Combine beans, onion, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar,
molasses, vinegar, salt & pepper in a 3 qt casserole.

Top with strips of bacon in a lattice pattern. Cover
with aluminum foil. Bake at 350°F/175°C for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove foil for last 30 minutes of baking to crisp up
    the bacon.

    Serve hot or cold.

Makes enough for two meals. If all the bacon is taken
at the first meal - fry up more to use with the left
    overs.
