Depends - now with RN training being more academically
focused, the graduates seem to be more sort of halfway
    doctors than nursing nurses.
Some of them still are putting themselves through college by working as
aides and patient techs... :) But yes, if one is going for the

I've only met one who professed such a planned
career trajectory, and it now appears she was
lying in a megalomaniac way. One issue is that
nursing now attracts a different crowd of students
from the olden days, as people are tumbling to the
fact that it's a worthwhile Profession with a
capital P, and not just a route to the MRS degree.

Bachelors in Nursing as opposed to the Certificate course for the RN, it
does tend to be more focused on the medical aspects.... One of my

The school that I saw my friend Alissa graduate
from offered the RN only combined with a
bachelor's - probably to avoid the silliness
that obtained at your school, whose BSW was as
good as an MSW from anyplace else.

nieces went back to school after her Bachelors to get a Masters in Nurse Practitioning... that one really is closer to an MD... Her specialty is

The NPs I knew from the infancy of that
accreditation were people who likely should have
been doctors but didn't have sufficient finances
or maleness to get into med school.

Pediatrics, she's worked in a Neonate ICU and a Premie ICU most of her career.... and loves her work... :)

    All the better.

Is the crispiness a criterion? One can make
    unbreaded shrimp tails shatteringly crisp
(that's the way I like them, too).
Not sure... It might be.... sometime when you're here, we could test
    that out... :)

Got to have a decent amount of fresh oil
    that you're willing to sacrifice.

Still, it might be worthwhile to dissect why
she kept looking for love in all the wrong
    places.
We have some ideas.... not really a subject for here... :)

Even were the person on the echo, it might
be impolitic to discuss it - but it should
    be discussed somewhere by somebody.

The chain's good reputation seems to rest on
    the family's business astuteness.
And on their commitment to good customer service... but I suppose that could be a part of the business astuteness, too... :)
Good customer service is predicated on having the
resources to offer it. Shoestringy operations are
less likely to be able to do so.
The training everyone that works there to consider themselves part of
the customer service can be done with any operation... and probably
would help a shoestring operation prosper to become something better...

If the shoestring operation had the
resources to provide the guidance - which
is the problem with businesses that have
had to cut to the bone.

they laid him off close to retirement age, it hadn't reached the peak,
but had started the climb... I think it ended up at 80% of the 50% of salary it should have attained.... Still better than nothing...
Quite a bit better than nothing. One does think
about the cynicism of the HR people.
One does. Especially with the charts that show how "equitable" they
were with the layoffs... two people with same years of service, same
age, one is kept the other let off... not noted was what kind of
retirement they were paying into.... I wonder about that sometimes...

The cynical side of me says, well, you know
what the cynical side of me says.

At least we are sufficiently comfortable at this point with the pension
    and our Soc Sec... :)

    Thank goodness.

Nobody says it has to be served in its ugly form,
either. The Japanese take all sorts of sea detritus
and turn it into surimi. I suggested once that
philine, the slimy mephitic creatures that Amanda
Newsom was studying, be made into something similar,
    and why not insects?
True. Do it that way, and fewer people would notice... :)

    Some legislative killjoy would undoubtedly
require there be a big label saying May contain
    insects or insect parts.

Without the nuts, it'll still be crunchy
enough, but it should taste better with.
Probably some sensitivity to food sensitivity.
Possibly... I'll try to remember to pay a little attention next
shopping, if it's on the bar.... They might use something like sunflower
or other seeds..... but I don't remember...

I'd be suspicious of a general nut allergy that
wasn't a general seed allergy as well.

Some of my best friends are LDSes, though none toes
the line precisely - if people don't like me do beer
and wine in their presence, I tend to distance myself
from them. I feel the same way about those who look
down their noses at my eating pork or beef, too.
No point in inflicting yourself on their sensitivities...
If the sensitivities are in my face, I'm not
going to stand for it; if they're quiet and
    well-behaved, so I will be.
I tend not to make a fuss.... but it doesn't mean I'd stick around...

I'm not exactly an eat a burger in front of a PETA
demonstration type, but neither would I stop eating
it if some zealot came across my path.

They were essentially caramels with peanuts.
That does sound tasty... ;) How long did the batch last....?

It's still half there and will no doubt be
until after I return for new year's.

    General Tso Chik'n Nuggets
categories: possibly vegan, fake Chinese, vegetarian, main
    servings: 4

1 pk (10.5 oz) MorningStar Farms Chik'n Nuggets
    2 Tb reduced-sodium soy sauce
    2 Tb honey
    2 Tb ketchup
    1 Tb cornstarch
    1/2 c vegetable broth
    2 Tb rice vinegar
    2 Tb Sriracha sauce
    1 ts minced garlic
    4 c broccoli florets
    2 Tb water
    1/4 c sliced green onions
2 c hot cooked brown rice

In oven prepare Nuggets according to package
directions, turning nuggets over after 10 min.

Meanwhile, in small bowl stir together soy
sauce, honey, ketchup and cornstarch. Set aside.

In small saucepan combine broth, vinegar,
Sriracha and garlic. Bring to boiling. Stir in
soy sauce mixture. Return to boiling. Reduce
heat. Simmer for 1 min. Remove from heat.

In microwave-safe bowl combine broccoli and
water. Microwave at high for 2 to 4 min or
until broccoli is crisp-tender. Drain well.

Place rice in 4 serving bowls. Top with
broccoli and chik'n nuggets. Pour sauce
    over top. Sprinkle with onions.
