were...OK.And then there's float planes. They don't bother me a bit in the summertime but landing on snow covered ice on a lake made me a tad nervous. If the snow covers up a pressure ridge the skis couldLoved floats! My favorite plane was a Super Cub on floats. Skis
catch on it and tip the plane, prop down and tail up. Which might
make it hard to get home.
Something about all the mechanical stresses on the airframe, did I evermention
my father was an airplane mechanic? I don't like to see things beatup that way.
