• 572 dare foods; suicide,

Carl's Jr., which fancies itself the Pioneer of the Great
    American Burger ...
Carl's came to Canada a few years ago but never took off. They shut
down in Ontario after a weak start. Right now they have just 23
branches left in B.C. and Alberta and the closest one is 725 miles
away so I will probably never taste one.

No Hardee's, either? Thought not. I'd offer
to freeze one and smuggle it across the border,
but truly, it wouldn't be worth it, plus the
product wouldn't survive the trip ... er, would
degrade during the journey. Think A&W burger
    only not quite as good.

My burger [...] was fine, a better than average fast-food
    sandwich
the dog [...] we could have done better at Costco
Their ads make them appear far more appealing than that!

Don't believe everything you see on the
    Internet. Plus the Original Six-Dollar
Thickburger costs $6 now (vitiating the
humor of the name), more if you put
    interesting things on it.

my choice of drink [...] a "suicide"
get a splash of everything in the soda machine's repertory
Sounds quite disgusting. I do like and can recommend equal parts
Sprite or 7-Up, lemonade and whatever orange soda is on tap. (I also recommend filling those large cups just half way!)

I can gulp down two 20-oz "cup"fuls in moments,
the most notable deviation in my diet from what
the nutritionists recommend. That goes for beer
as well. Good reason not to go to the fast-food
    emporia too often.

A grown up lemon and orange suicide drink ...
    Title: Artillerymen's Punch
    1 qt Bourbon
    9 oz Light rum
    4 oz Dark Jamaican rum
    6 oz Apricot flavored brandy
    12 oz Lemon juice
    24 oz Orange juice
    1 qt Strong black tea
    1/4 c Sugar

Doesn't actually look all bad. I'm dubious
about black tea recipes, but the few I've
tasted have been not unobjectionable (the
    best one can say).

I had a pretty good hamburger today and it cost less than $6. Also a
half dozen oysters. Bet you can guess where? Hint -- it was Tuesday.
