That worked out well for you... Richard tends to go to Ebay rather
than Amazon... he has enough sense to filter out the
ridiculously-priced things, and since he's usually looking for used
items, generally has good luck finding them... For what he's looking
for, he finds that Amazon is almost always more expensive for the same thing....

I comparison shop - always. Most of the stuff I buy on-line @ Amazon has
the best price ..... especially when you factor in the shipping costs.

Some things I do buy on eBay .... I do better on hard bound books than
almost anywhere else. And I bought my latest automotive toy there. A nice
2011 Chevy HHR for just $1650 - I was totally gabberflasted when I won
that auction - both that the seller didn't have a reserve price and that
I wasn't outbid. I really like it - and it gets about double the fuel
    economy of Berthold the BMW.

My Amazon Prime membership is worth what I pay for it just in the
Kindle Unlimited part. More books than I'll ever be able to read.
And the free two-day shipping if I do buy something.

I can see where that could be useful for you... I don't have a Kindle
(or Nook, or equivalent), just read paper & ink books... of which we
have plenty.... :) And as I'm not going to be buying anything, don't
need the free two-day shipping, either... :)

I'm paring down my hard-copy books (except the cookery stuff) by
putting them out in the "Little Free Library" boxes spotted around the area.

Not a problem for me if you want to dispose of yours... we just aren't doing that with ours... ;) Things do eventually get read again, in
    most cases.... ;)

I have limited bookshelf space. And many of the books I have in paper I
also have in e-reader format. I am keeping all of my Admiral Bob, Ike
Asimov and Jim Michener and the aforementioned cookery tomes. I'm still
    short on shelf space.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Dave's Fish Parmesan
    Categories: Seafood, Cheese, Sauces, Mushrooms
    Yield: 8 Servings

2 lb Fish fillets or steaks
26 oz Jar Onofrio's Basilico sauce
    - or Marinara sauce *
    Salt & fresh black pepper
    1 lb Mozzarella or Provolone;
    - sliced or shredded
    1 lb Crimini/Swiss Brown button
    - mushrooms, cleaned, sliced
    - reserving 8 buttons
    Fresh grated or shaved
    - Parmesan cheese
    8 tb Butter; melted

    Set oven @ 425°F/220°C.

Spread a thin layer of sauce over bottom of baking dish
place a layer of firm whitefish fillets on the sauce. Salt
and pepper the fish. Sprinkle some sliced mushrooms over
fish and place cheese in a layer over the mushrooms.
Spread a layer of sauce over the cheese and repeat the
fish, mushroom, cheese layers until the baking dish is
near full or you run out of fish.

Top the last layer with cheese, the remaining sauce in
the jar and the 8 reserved mushroom buttons. Grate or
shave Parmesan over until you are ashamed of yourself or
until you run out of cheese.

Drizzle the melted butter over the cheese and bake until
fish is done - 15 to 20 minutes

    * Available from www.onofrios.com. Or you may use Ragu,
    Prego, Classico, etc.

I like the addition of the basil in the Basilico sauce. If
you don't care for basil with your fish use the straight
    marinara. - UDD

Adapted from a NYT Cookbook recipe and served many times
    from Dirty Dave's Kitchen.

You are probably buying different things, then.... :)

Now that's a nice "toy"... Are you keeping them both in your stable...?

A lot of our books are in piles or in boxes, granted.... :) When we had
to redo our kitchen because of the attic fire years ago, I finally got
enough shelf space for my cookbooks... The Wegmans Menu Magazine is
fixing to overflow what space was left there, though.... :)
