    That could be a factor... There also seems to be a bit of general celebrity-madness, and not just here...
    In my observation, it hasn't been so
    crassly monetized elsewhere.
    You've been more places than I, so no doubt have observed more....

    There's celebrity madness everywhere, just
    it's not as much of a cash flow stimulator
    elsewhere. Fame and fortune are not bad just
    for the sufferer but also for the fans.

    Although there are times in performance when that might be called for, especially if one is the accompanist....
    In performance, that's true because the one
    standing up is always right, even when they're
    a measure off.
    Exactly.... :) We're having a talent event at church the 23rd, and
    Lydia talked me into playing with her... she's playing soprano recorder,
    I'll be playing piano, and a cellist friend will join as continuo...
    we'll see how it goes... should be pretty ok... :)

    Well, you can always ignore the cellist if s/he
    gets off.

    I'm still waiting for the e-mail that says
    that someone I knew died that night. I hope
    I won't see anything, being uncomfortable with
    anyone with a psychic connection to me dying,
    or anyone having a psychic connection to me at
    all, or yet anyone having a psychic connection.
    All the more reason to let it slough off... hopefully nothing....

    In some ways the existence of such connections
    would be comforting; in others it would be
    unbelievably creepy.

    For some people it seems to come naturally... :)
    There are those around here whose first
    initial is arr.
    True, and more than one.... ;)
    other liqueurs, but not how to work them into the stream....
    Most of them have less evocative names, like
    "creme de banane."
    Amaretto, Barenyager, di Sorrono, Kahlua, Bailey's, Dramboui.... and whatever that raspberry one is.... ;)

    Chilli Con Queso
    categories: Nullarbor, bread
    yield: 1

    1/2 c tomato juice
    2 lb processed cheese (American or Velveeta)
    2 sm onions, chopped
    2 cn chilli con carne (15 1/2 oz ea without beans)

    Cook tomato juice, cheese and onions in top of
    double boiler for 1 hr. Add chilli and blend well.
    When thoroughly heated, transfer to chafing or
    fondue dish. Use fritos or corn chips as dippers.

    He... and he's pretty good... He'll probably do fine... and I expect him
    to just play along without any issues, even if we only have a run-thru rehearsal with him... Lydie and I've gone through it a couple times
    now, and worked on it a little... still hope for a good rehearsal before
    the day of.... :)
