Modern technology. I'm losing the unit at the end of this week;
it was a rental to use for the first 3 weeks post op. Probably
the knee flex machine will be picked up around then also.
I hope you've outgrown both by that time.
Basically, yes. The doctor had hoped to pull the rest of the stitches
out today but the line started separating when the tech tried it. So, they're still in and the knee area is wrapped up tight again. But,
both machines are gone and I'm doing outpatient therapy.
Swann: Vitamins are poison now? I wish they'd make
their minds up.
It's usually amounts that are way far above the normal intake
that make them poisonous. I remember reading about explorers
in the Actic and Antartica taking huge amounts of vitamin A but
don't remember what for, and how they were able to do so without
poisoning themselves.
I hadn't read that.
I think it was in something I read as a kid.

healed, then.... At least you don't need the machines anymore....

I remember reading something of the sort.... As I recall, the huge
amounts of Vitamin A weren't intentional, but because they were eating
the livers of polar bears, which had high concentrations thereof... I don't recall what, if anything, they were able to do to detoxify themselves... I do remember it being a problem....

Still not that easy to do them but I'm working on it. Started with 10 minutes on the bike yesterday, increasing tension on the knee about
every 3 minutes. Other exercises followed.

No, they keep things within your limits. Last week (before the stop
was put on), an ankle weight was added to the leg for one exercise. It wasn't that much (maybe a couple of pounds) but I could feel the difference.

loaf of blueberry-chocolate chip bread. The bits of things were taste trade offs from the after auction tasting/trade off.

Especially when the bidding wars get really crazy. One of the youth
tried to bid X dollars and Y cents but the treasurer reminded him that
all bids had to be whole dollar amounts. He then rounded his bid up to
the next dollar but dropped out when the bids went up even more.
Ran out of money, I guess... :) Or decided that maybe it wasn't worth
any more to him... :)
Hopefully, and hopefully they will schedule the grand opening
on a day other than Sunday for the WF store.
I think the Lancaster PA opening was also on a Sunday.... so
maybe that IS their favored day for openings.... you could
always go on Monday, though.... And I think I was wrong on
Raleigh being the first in the region... happened to talk to
Sallye, and she reminded me that Cary was first, and happened
maybe last year....?
I'm not sure if the Cary one is open yet.
Something to check on... Sallye was pretty sure that they'd
opened last fall.... :) As I recall, that one was closer to
where her daughter in SC has been....
OK, I'll check the web site.
Did you...? and what did you find out...?
The Cary store is just listed among the "Future Sites"--no date given
for those. The Raleigh store is among those listed as opening in 2019.
Hmmm... that's interesting... wonder what happened there, then... And
I wonder which store Sallye was talking about, too....

they hit some snags in Cary that delayed things... Sallye ended up needing

work...

It partly depends on what area of a store one does most of their shopping... and what sort of quality they want and are willing to pay for... For me, Wegmans easily wins hands down... the things that
matter to me are at least as inexpensive as at any other store, the quality of the fresh foods (produce, meats, seafood, dairy, bakery) is
as good or
better than anywhere else, I don't mind paying a little more for good fresh food to be prepared at the store for me, and so on.... and the convenience of it all in one place... Apparently Aldi's is a better
fit for some people, including my youngest sister (MG).... shrug... :)

Yes, we fill out a card with our name, title of dessert and a brief description. Also indicate if it's gluten or dairy free.
Some people do something different every year, others do the same
thing (but usually a proven best seller).

We like to explore new to us stores, sometimes finding a goodie or two that will be worked into our general cooking then and when we get

We like to explore new to us stores, sometimes finding a goodie or two that will be worked into our general cooking then and when we get

That works for some stores... not so much a Price Chopper or a Sav-A-Lot... ;) Although, I did discover that the PC up here carries
a few things that I can't get at our Wegmans, like the Sargento's

Right now, Wegman's will be a "when we're in Raleigh" shopping

Quite understandable.... I wouldn't be surprised if you find
yourselves stocking up on some stuff from the Raleigh store,

fridge running between trips.
Makes sense... :) I also don't leave anything at the camp over
the winter that might be hurt by freezing, since it can get
pretty cold there as well... :)
Much colder than we get. (G)
For sure... and colder than we get at home as well... :)
Plus the snow and ice. (G) We get some of that but not to the extent
the North Country gets. They, however, know how to, and have the proper equipment to, deal with that.
Especially for those that have no idea other than "it's just
another grocery store".
Indeed. :)
They will learn........(G)
Yup.... :)
Only a couple more weeks (and a few days) now until the Raleigh
store opens.........................but who's counting? (G)
Obviously not you...!! (G)
Ten days from now. Why they're opening on a Sunday is what I
don't understand tho.
It's a day most people have off... and nowadays a lot fewer
people see it as a day of rest and worship... I think that's
their standard practice for the openings... the one in Lancaster
also opened on a Sunday...
We got a flyer in with the other grocery ads today. I'd like to check
it out but it'll have to wait until some time in October.

There is that, indeed... they don't usually get more snow or ice than
we do... Off the end of Lake Ontario gets lots more than they do, or
we

be part of the reason for opening on a Sunday.... the traffic jams wouldn't cause as much havoc on a Sunday as on a weekday.... at least potentially anyway....

They had electronic signs along nearby highways/roads, off duty
police, etc on Sunday.
When we went on Friday afternoon, I saw a couple of Raleigh
police cars nearby but it looked like they weren't needed at
that time. Closer on to rush hour, maybe but not mid afternoon.
Did you see my note to Dave Drum about opening day?

Must be something in the curing--a nitrite, nitride or whatever.

From the write up of the grand opening day, having that kind of crowd control was quite useful.

Those of us that did "hype it up" must have done a good job. Our mail carrier said that he's not been yet but his wife had, and wasn't that impressed with it.
Last time we were there, we bought some lime mint sparkling water

Hard to tell. N&O did do a story on price comparing, found out
Wegman's was as low (or lower than) a lot of the other stores in the
area.

That is something that Wegmans does try to do... keep prices
reasonable for their customers, while providing good quality stuff...

Probably attached to her favorite stores. Wegman's, especially the
larger ones, can be sort of intimidating if you go in thinking it's
just another grocery store.
