I have a custom ansimrd.ans file, and I see it when I log in with my account.

However, when a new user logs in, they are not seeing ansimrd.ans, they just see the generic reader.

Is this a new bug? Or did I mess something up on my own installation?

Do they have the message reader set to "standard" which is the "traditional" BBS message reader?

This is happening as a result of me using the apply_sample.mps

Since you wrote that thing, probably long ago, has anthing changed in Mystic
in a more recent release, that would cause apply_sample to not acknowledge the New User Settings option for "Message Reader: ANSI" ?

That's the only problem I'm facing with the script; it's not recording the new user's reader preference (which I set in Mystic settings to be "ANSI")

After the user signs-up, I can change the setting for them in the user editor, and then it works.

In "Mystic Configuration" under "New User Settings 2" and under "Message Reader" the options are: ANSI/ASK/NORMAL - I chose ANSI.

But in the "User Editor" in the "Settings 2" section, and under "MSG Reader" the options are: FULL/STANDARD - I notice that STANDARD here refers to what
the "New User Settings" refers to as "ANSI"

Does that have anything to do with apply_sample not assigning the proper value for FULL aka ANSI?

The new user apply replacement overrides all of the new user options so I believe you'll need to set "userreader := 1" in the script if you want them
to have the full screen reader.

Great and let me know if you have any other issues with it. I don't think many people have really used that feature in the past so there could be things that you will want to do that cannot be done without me making some modifications (which I am totally willing to do should that happen).
