• Chat inactivity bug?

From Todd Holcomb@1:229/2 to All on Monday, December 21, 2020 18:09:04

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I couldn't find it in a search of the forum. When the sysop is chatting with a user for several minutes and ends the chat, the user immediately gets dropped due to an inactivity timeout. Is this a known issue
    with the latest version?

    Thanks,

    Todd

I am not able to reproduce this. How are you chatting with the user (there are several ways) and what OS are you using?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure exactly how Todd was doing it, but I have noticed that if you break into chat using nodespy, as soon as you exit chat you will be disconnected for inactivity. I believe this was on a Linux system that it happened to me.

    I hope that helps. :)

Thanks for the clarification. I'll have that fixed up in the next build (whatever comes after the Jan 5th build).

This is when you do a private user chat (/P) from the Main Menu or when you use nodespy to chat. Also, if two users, who are both on remotely, go into private user chat for a while they'll both get logged off immediately after leaving chat. This doesn'
t seem to affect a person on locally.

I'm running Windows XP on an Intel Mac.
