I was following the instructions for adding DOVE-Net here:

And it says to go into each sub and post a msg to SBBS with subject ADD

But it won't let me post in the "Synchronet Announcements" one, so how do I get
it added to the downloads?

I don't recall having to post a message with ADD in order to add Dove-Net to my
BBS. From what I remember, it was just a matter of enabling the Dove-Net sub-boards with my QWK account on Vertrauen and then in my BBS configuration, linking them up with
Vertrauen. I've set up other QWK message networks on my BBS as well and haven't had to post "ADD" messages.

You don't need to do that. Just logon to Vertrauen with your QWKnet account and
confirm that the sub-board is already in the scan config. It defaults to "On", so it will already be scanned.

You are correct sir. The WIKI instructions do say that.

You don't need to do that. Just logon to Vertrauen with your QWKnet account confirm that the sub-board is already in the scan config. It defaults to "On so it will already be scanned.

Perhaps the wiki needs to be changed or edited??

Here's what the wiki currently says:

If you haven't already done so, either:

1. Logon to your Hub (e.g. Vertrauen) via Telnet, RLogin, or SSH and (S)elect Areas to Scan from the QWK: prompt and set all DOVE-Net sub-boards to "On", or:
2. Logon to your BBS and post a message in each of the DOVE-Net message areas to: "SBBS" with a subject of "ADD"...

So and it's an either/or option and the first/preferred option is to login to the hub (Vertrauen). The second option (using QWK control messages) is still a valid option.

This one got me too. If you read carefully it says "or" for this step. You don't need to send the ADD messages if you configure your QWK packet on VERT with the groups you want.
