wget --tries=1 ftp://vert.synchro.net/Synchronet/sbbs_run.tgz -O $HOME/downloads/sbbs-dev/sbbs_run-$(date '+%Y%m%d').tgz
i use the above to download the file every time i update sbbs... it is saved to
a new file name with the date in it incase i need to back up to a
previous version for some reason... once i have the file, i use the following to extract
the text.dat file and then i compare it with the existing one... if they are different, i copy the new one over the old one...
tar zxvf $HOME/downloads/sbbs-dev/sbbs_run-$(date '+%Y%m%d').tgz --strip=1 -C
$SBBSDIR/temp/ ctrl/text.dat
the above is for the linux version, i guess... there's probably a sbbs_run.zip available...
)\/(ark
there was a file that said it was the latest text.dat file and it was
a copy of a txt directory.
I am trying to fix a botched upgrade, in my Windows version of SBBS. I currently get an avatar error .... So I'm following the steps outlined on the upgrade page. I cannot seem to be able to click on the text.dat file to download it.
if I access this via the web... click on it it opens in a new window. If I try to cut and paste that... it gets butchered ... double spaces and what not. I did login to vert... there was a file that said it was the latest text.dat file and it was a copy of a txt directory.
Who do I have to have coitus with to get a good-latest copy of the text.dat file.
