That's cool. I don't remember if I was aware of the RESULT.ED file. I've seen that some editors are able to let users change the subject within the editor; for SlyEdit, I chose to have it read a drop file provided by the BBS that has the sub-board name, but didn't allow for changing the subject. I suppose I could have SlyEdit write a RESULT.ED file with a new subject if the user wants to change the subject?

Exactly. Currently you're using MSGINF which is BBS-to-editor drop file only. With EDITOR.INF/RESULT.ED, the BBS-to-editor file is EDITOR.INF and RESULT.ED is the editor-to-BBS file.
You could support both in your editor and even auto-detect which the sysop has configured if you're clever. :-)

That's an idea.. I posted a question to you in another message though - I chose MSGINF because it has information about the sub-board (such as the sub-board name), which is displayed in SlyEdit. I was curious if another external editor dropfile option could be created to support MSGINF with the ability to change the subject in the editor - supporting both MSGINF and RESULT.ED, perhaps?
Perhaps. Another possibliity might be to supply the sub-board name in the EDITOR.INF file (rather than or in addition-to the "to" name). I noticed just recently that WWIV puts the sub-board name in the EDITOR.INF on the same line where Synchronet puts to the "to" name. It seems both could be very useful to an editor. I don't rember if MSGINF includes the "to" name too. I'll have to look into that as well...
