The US Navy has made an admission regarding UFOs that’s just a bit out of this world – so to speak.

The government department acknowledged that three videos released by former Blink-182 singer and dedicated alien investigating enthusiast, Tom DeLonge, did
in fact contain “unidentified” objects.

“The Navy considers the phenomena contained/depicted in those three videos as
unidentified,” US Navy spokesman Joseph Gradisher told The Black Vault.

While speaking to the website which looks into declassified government documents, Mr Gradisher added that the term ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomena’
is used by the Navy to provide a basic description for sightings of objects in the airspace that had
not been authorised and could not be identified.

The three videos in question showing the ‘unidentified’ objects had previously been published by The New York Times and were reportedly shot in 2004 and 2015.

The publisher of the website where the Navy spokesperson’s comments were published said he was taken aback by the admittance.

“I very much expected that when the US military addressed the videos, they would coincide with language we see on official documents that have now been released, and they would label them as ‘drones’ or ‘balloons,’” John Greenwald told
Motherboard.

“However, they did not. They went on the record stating the ‘phenomena’ depicted in those videos, is ‘unidentified’. That really made me surprised,
intrigued, excited and motivated to push harder for the truth.”

The Navy’s acknowledgement comes after it officially changed its policy to make it easier for personnel to report strange sightings in the airspace.

“The Navy and USAF [United States Air Force] take these reports very seriously and investigate each and every report,” Mr Gradisher told Motherboard earlier this year

The Navy Says the UFOs in Tom DeLonge's Videos Are 'Unidentified Aerial Phenomena'

In official statements, the US Navy has for the first time officially stated that the three UFO videos made public by former Blink-182 singer Tom DeLonge’s UFO research organization are footage of real “unknown” objects
violating American airspace.

Navy spokesperson Joseph Gradisher told Motherboard that “the Navy considers the phenomena contained/depicted in those 3 videos as unidentified.” Previously, the Navy never addressed the content of the videos. The terminology
here is important: The
UFO community is increasingly using the terminology “unidentified aerial phenomena” to discuss unknown objects in the sky.

John Greenwald, author and curator of The Black Vault, the largest civilian archive of declassified government documents, originally reported the news. Greenwald requested information in August from the Navy regarding the content of the three popular
videos purporting to show anomalous aerial objects.

In 2017 and 2018, three videos taken by Navy pilots from their aircraft made national news. In December 2017, The New York Times ran a story about Navy pilots who intercepted a strange object off the coast of San Diego on November 14th, 2004, and managed
to shoot video of the object with their F-18’s gun camera. Another video, which we now know the date of due to Greenwald’s request for information, was
taken on January 21st, 2015, shows another anomalous aerial vehicle rotating as
pilots comment on
how strange the object is over their communication system. Months later, DeLonge, through his organization, To the Stars Academy, released a third video
showing an object quickly fly over the surface of the water. That video was also recorded on January
21st, 2015 raising speculation that the two videos shot that day show the same object.

“I very much expected that when the U.S. military addressed the videos, they would coincide with language we see on official documents that have now been released, and they would label them as ‘drones’ or ‘balloons,’” Greenwald told
Motherboard. “However, they did not. They went on the record stating the ‘phenomena’ depicted in those videos, is ‘unidentified.’ That really made me surprised, intrigued, excited and motivated to push harder for the truth.”

Roger Glassel, a writer for the Swedish magazine “UFO-Aktuellt” and an expert who specializes in Freedom of Information Act Requests also said it was notable that the Navy is using this new terminology.

“That the Navy is using the term ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomena’ shows that they have broadened what is expected to be reported by U.S. fighter pilots
to investigate anything unknown in their airspace that in the past has been connected with a
stigma,” Glassel told Motherboard. “If these investigations are due to an interest in finding the cause of the UFO phenomenon—in a ufology sense—or due to reducing flight hazards or to counter unidentified intrusions by known adversaries, and
readiness for technological surprise, remains to be seen.”

Earlier this year, the US Navy officially changed its policy to make it easier for its personnel to report sightings of anomalous aerial vehicles due to the number of reports of “unauthorized and/or unidentified aircraft entering various military-
controlled training ranges and designated airspace,” Gradisher told Motherboard. “The Navy and USAF [United States Air Force] take these reports very seriously and investigate each and every report.”

Gradisher said that the safety of military personnel and the public are a top priority, and due to the number of reported UAP incidents, the Navy is taking the matter seriously. However, it has no intention to release any of this information to the
public.

“The information obtained from each individual report of any suspected training range incursion will be investigated in its own right. The information
obtained in these reports will be catalogued and analyzed for the purpose of identifying any hazard
to our aviators,” Gradisher said. “Any report generated as a result of these investigations will, by necessity, include classified information on military operations. Therefore, no release of information to the general public
is expected.”

Luis Elizondo, a former Pentagon counter-intelligence agent who retired and went public regarding a secretive UFO/UAP hunting program, has long stated that
these objects were truly anomalous.

“A military's primary objective is to protect its national borders and it's people. Any time, any military can’t address a potential threat, it should be
a concern for both its citizens and those entrusted to protect them,” Elizondo told
Motherboard. “However, I am heartened by the Navy's new position to address this issue in a serious manner and without the distraction of the social stigma
that this phenomena seems to attract.”

With this official statement, the Navy takes an unprecedented and dramatic shift from the US government’s long held company-line that there’s nothing to the whole UFO phenomenon. Even going back to the Air Force’s official investigations into UFOs,
which ran under several different program names from 1948–1970, never before has a branch of the American military pointed to a picture or video of an object and stated—this is a true unknown or unidentified aerial object.

UFOlogists have speculated that the object shown in the “FLIR1” video was captured near a little known and secretive Naval facility, The San Clemente Island Range Complex. San Clemente Island is host to a number of classified tenants, including the
Navy’s principal research, development, and evaluation center for manned and unmanned submersibles and aerial vehicles and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR). Roughly 50 nautical miles northwest of San Clemente Island is San Nicolas
Island, another closely guarded Navy complex. San Nicolas Island has discreetly
served as the Navy’s premier test site for state-of-the-art weapons systems. With multiple large golf-ball shaped telemetry antennas dotting the landscape, Navy personnel
monitor and control the surrounding 36,000 square miles of air and ocean around
San Nicolas Island.

Accounts of the Navy’s 2014 and 2015 UFO events have been a little more ambiguous. Based on limited eyewitness reports, it’s speculated that the two videos from 2015, known as “Gimbal” and “Go Fast” were captured while the Roosevelt Carrier
group was operating in the Jacksonville Training Complex, off the Florida/Georgia coast. In this location, Carrier Strike Group-12 would have been in the purview of the Naval nuclear submarine base King’s Bay. Roughly 300 miles south of the flotilla,
is the Navy’s Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC). According
to the Navy, making use of a multitude of in-air and deep-water tracking systems, AUTEC, is capable of monitoring and controlling upwards of 500 nautical miles and a height
of 70,000 feet around the facility.

These unidentified objects may have been tracked by one, likely all, of these highly sophisticated nearby military facilities. But when asked about the 2015 incidents, Ron Flanders, a Navy spokesperson, said, “We have checked the records, and despite
the public reporting (and video) on the incident, no records exist at FACSFAC [Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility] for the event(s) in question.”

Author and blogger Jack Brewer, a prominent voice in UFO circles, says that ufologists need to be cautious about the Navy’s new statements.

“I think it’s important not to read more into statements, such as the one pertaining to UAP, than is actually said. It is important that we prioritize data available for public review, as compared to statements and implications,” he said.

It’s likely many UFO enthusiasts consider the Navy’s latest stance as confirmation for what they’ve believed all along. According to the Navy, UFOs
are real, and that question is no longer up for debate. The evidence that these
unidentified objects
are otherworldly or extraterrestrial though is still very much the realm of speculation.

The only conclusion we can draw is that if the most advanced and powerful military on the planet bumps into objects in its own airspace that it cannot identify, everyone should be a little worried.

The Trouble with Many Worlds



But first, a brief summary of what the many worlds interpretation says. In quantum mechanics, every system is described by a wave-function from which one calculates the probability of obtaining a specific measurement outcome. Physicists usually take the
Greek letter Psi to refer to the wave-function.

From the wave-function you can calculate, for example, that a particle which enters a beam-splitter has a 50% chance of going left and a 50% chance of going
right. But – and that’s the important point – once you have measured the particle, you know
with 100% probability where it is. This means that you have to update your probability and with it the wave-function. This update is also called the wave-function collapse.

The wave-function collapse, I have to emphasize, is not optional. It is an observational requirement. We never observe a particle that is 50% here and 50%
there. That’s just not a thing. If we observe it at all, it’s either here or it isn’t.
Speaking of 50% probabilities really makes sense only as long as you are talking about a prediction.

Now, this wave-function collapse is a problem for the following reason. We have
an equation that tells us what the wave-function does as long as you do not measure it. It’s called the Schrödinger equation. The Schrödinger equation is a linear
equation. What does this mean? It means that if you have two solutions to this equation, and you add them with arbitrary prefactors, then this sum will also be a solution to the Schrödinger equation. Such a sum, btw, is also called a “superposition”.
I know that superposition sounds mysterious, but that’s really all it is, it’s a sum with prefactors.

The problem is now that the wave-function collapse is not linear, and therefore
it cannot be described by the Schrödinger equation. Here is an easy way to understand this. Suppose you have a wave-function for a particle that goes right with 100%
probability. Then you will measure it right with 100% probability. No mystery here. Likewise, if you have a particle that just goes left, you will measure it
left with 100% probability. But here’s the thing. If you take a superposition
of these two
states, you will not get a superposition of probabilities. You will get 100% either on the one side, or on the other.

The measurement process therefore is not only an additional assumption that quantum mechanics needs to reproduce what we observe. It is actually incompatible with the Schrödinger equation.

Now, the most obvious way to deal with that is to say, well, the measurement process is something complicated that we do not yet understand, and the wave-function collapse is a placeholder that we use until we will figured out something better.

But that’s not how most physicists deal with it. Most sign up for what is known as the Copenhagen interpretation, that basically says you’re not supposed to ask what happens during measurement. In this interpretation, quantum mechanics is merely a
mathematical machinery that makes predictions and that’s that. The problem with Copenhagen – and with all similar interpretations – is that they require you to give up the idea that what a macroscopic object, like a detector
does should be
derivable from theory of its microscopic constituents.

If you believe in the Copenhagen interpretation you have to buy that what the detector does just cannot be derived from the behavior of its microscopic constituents. Because if you could do that, you would not need a second equation besides the Schrö
dinger equation. That you need this second equation, then is incompatible with reductionism. It is possible that this is correct, but then you have to explain
just where reductionism breaks down and why, which no one has done. And without
that, the
Copenhagen interpretation and its cousins do not solve the measurement problem,
they simply refuse to acknowledge that the problem exists in the first place.

The many world interpretation, now, supposedly does away with the problem of the quantum measurement and it does this by just saying there isn’t such a thing as wavefunction collapse. Instead, many worlds people say, every time you
make a measurement,
the universe splits into several parallel worlds, one for each possible measurement outcome. This universe splitting is also sometimes called branching.

Some people have a problem with the branching because it’s not clear just exactly when or where it should take place, but I do not think this is a serious problem, it’s just a matter of definition. No, the real problem is that after throwing out the
measurement postulate, the many worlds interpretation needs another assumption,
that brings the measurement problem back.

The reason is this. In the many worlds interpretation, if you set up a detector
for a measurement, then the detector will also split into several universes. Therefore, if you just ask “what will the detector measure”, then the answer is “The
detector will measure anything that’s possible with probability 1.”

This, of course, is not what we observe. We observe only one measurement outcome. The many worlds people explain this as follows. Of course you are not supposed to calculate the probability for each branch of the detector. Because when we say detector,
we don’t mean all detector branches together. You should only evaluate the probability relative to the detector in one specific branch at a time.

That sounds reasonable. Indeed, it is reasonable. It is just as reasonable as the measurement postulate. In fact, it is logically entirely equivalent to the measurement postulate. The measurement postulate says: Update probability at measurement to 100%.
The detector definition in many worlds says: The “Detector” is by definition only the thing in one branch. Now evaluate probabilities relative to
this, which gives you 100% in each branch. Same thing.

And because it’s the same thing you already know that you cannot derive this detector definition from the Schrödinger equation. It’s not possible. What the many worlds people are now trying instead is to derive this postulate from rational choice
theory. But of course that brings back in macroscopic terms, like actors who make decisions and so on. In other words, this reference to knowledge is equally in conflict with reductionism as is the Copenhagen interpretation.

And that’s why the many worlds interpretation does not solve the measurement problem and therefore it is equally troubled as all other interpretations of quantum mechanics. What’s the trouble with the other interpretations? We will
talk about this
some other time. So stay tuned.

my opinion, humble though it is, is that 'none' of these things are
genuine ufo's from another world.

the main problem being the terrible photographic quality of such evidence
when just about the whole world & its daughter is walking around with a
high quality megapixel camera these days, and yet the resulting images are
all still pretty vague if not altogether crappy?

that although the photographic technology itself has advanced almost
beyond belief in 50 years, all we 'still' are ever presented with, as
evidence, is these typical grainy low-res images, which with editing
software like photoshop + incredibly advanced video editing technology to
boot, are a cinch to create...

iow: we haven't seen anything yet that's even vaguely convincing, rather
the opposite actually; in that the worse they are is the more it
undermines the reality of them, especially now when just about everyone
has a high-power good quality camera at their instant disposal?

the group shot is the standard military flares we've all seen 100 times,
any 'sustained' recording of them always showing them slowly winking-out
one by one after a while, and is very deliberately misleading then to edit
that part out...

the other one (down the page) is of such poor quality that it could have
come from the 60's?

truth is, there are 1000's of deliberate fakes out there that we know are fakes, and the question is why make fakes if 'any' of it's really true?
what need for fakes if it's happening so much??

I am of the same conclusion.
There is something to these "phenomena"
But it is markedly and radically different
than the mythos and popular explanations.

Tom DeLonge's To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences has signed a research agreement with the U.S. Army.

Never thought I'd write this sentence but it's 2019 and here we are: Tom DeLonge, founding Blink-182 member and the band's former co-frontman, might just be the world's preeminent voice on unidentified flying objects and alien technology now.

In 2015, DeLonge (who also masterminds the pop/rock group Angels & Airwaves) founded To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences (TTSA), an organization established to pursue research into UFOs and extraterrestrial existence. At first glance, it seemed
like DeLonge was just diving headfirst into harebrained conspiracy theories and
perhaps obliging his longtime UFO obsession a little too much.

However, as more and more headlines poured out over the last four years (and more insight was gained into what, exactly, TTSA aims to do) DeLonge and Co. have now legitimately silenced any doubters.

Last month, U.S. Navy spokesman Joseph Gradisher confirmed that three videos posted by TTSA indeed show "unidentified aerial phenomena." Each of the videos — titled "FLIR1," "Gimbal" and "GoFast" — were posted both by the academy and a subsequent New
York Times exposé in December 2017 and March 2018.

technology innovations in order to develop enhanced capabilities for Army ground vehicles."

The newly-signed agreement — a "Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA)" — states that the U.S. Army researchers will work alongside TTSA's crew for five years to further study and research the organization's materials ("alien alloys,"
etc.) and otherworldly technology they've already been conducting tests on. The

Navy Confirms UFO Videos Posted by Blink 182 Rocker Are Real

"TTSA's technology solutions, which leverage developments in material science, space-time metric engineering, quantum physics, beamed energy propulsion, and active camouflage, have the potential to enhance survivability and effectiveness of multiple Army
systems," an official TTSA news release read. "TTSA will share its discoveries with Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) and Ground Vehicle Survivability and Protection (GVSP) and the U.S. Army shall provide laboratories, expertise, support, and resources
to help characterize the technologies and its applications."

If TTSA and DeLonge weren't validated by their previous eyebrow-raising work, this new contract literally aligns them with the U.S. Army and puts the former Blink-182 rocker in rarefied air indeed. It's hard to argue with his qualifications after the
government comes a-callin' and wants to compare notes.

"Our partnership with TTSA serves as an exciting, nontraditional source for novel materials and transformational technologies to enhance our military ground system capabilities," said Dr. Joseph Cannon, of U.S. Army Futures Command, in the news release. "
At the Army's Ground Vehicle Systems Center, we look forward to this partnership and the potential technical innovations forthcoming."

There’s been an interesting, if not terribly informative development in the story of those UFOs encountered by the Nimitz aircraft carrier battle group back in 2004. As you may recall, there were three videos released over the past
couple of years by
the Navy through the efforts of To The Stars Academy (TTSA) showing encounters with bizarre flying objects exhibiting performance characteristics that defy much of our understanding of physics. One was from the Nimitz incident and the others were from a
much later encounter involving the carrier Roosevelt. The videos were somewhat grainy and short in length. Many journalists have attempted to find out if more
such videos exist, or at least if longer, clearer versions of the ones we’ve seen are
available. All such requests were answered in the negative.

That is… until now. One researcher named Christian Lambright submitted a FOIA
request to the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) back in October looking for some very specific information along these lines. He finally received a response recently. The
military didn’t supply him with any new videos or documents, but they did concede that they located other documents and another video that would be applicable to his request. They could not release them, however, because the documents were classified
TOP SECRET and the video footage was SECRET. Their release, the Navy claims, could cause “grave damage” to national security. This information was published recently by Paul Dean. (Emphasis added)

We should immediately place these revelations in context, so let’s review a couple of important points.

Starting early last year, the Pentagon seemed to grow tired of fielding all of these questions about UFOs and started referring all journalistic inquiries to a single spokesperson, Susan Gough. This is an important point to make because we’ve heard
testimony from several of the sailors from the Nimitz battle group who witnessed these events saying that they remembered seeing longer videos. However, when journalists asked the Pentagon about this, Ms. Gough informed us on multiple occasions that
those three videos were the only ones they had and no longer or clearer versions existed.

Now ONI has gone on record stating that there is at least one additional video from the Nimitz encounter and it can’t be released because it’s classified SECRET. (They are reviewing that classification to see if it can be changed now
so perhaps we’
ll eventually see it.) So once again we have the Pentagon, through Ms. Gough, saying there are no more videos and we have ONI saying there is at least one more. Both of these things can not be simultaneously true. In other words, somebody is lying…
again.

Who should we believe? We might able to apply a bit of a logic test to this situation and come up with a pretty good guess. One possibility is that someone
at the Office of Naval Intelligence has decided to fabricate a fairy tale about
nonexistent UFO
video footage and send it out to researchers and journalists to… I don’t know. Gaslight them?

The other possibility is that when the Pentagon was asked about additional videos they lied to us. You may recall that I wrote a rather lengthy screed about a month ago about the Pentagon (and really most of the government) and their somewhat dubious
relationship with the truth. This is the same Susan Gough who told us repeatedly for many months that the AATIP program was real and it investigated UAPs. (That’s their term for UFOs now.) Then on December 7th, she inexplicably put out a statement
saying that AATIP had never had anything to do with UAPs. She also told us that
TTSA’s Louis Elizondo was never in charge of or associated with AATIP (which may still be true) while numerous other sources claim that he ran the program and his name
shows up on one of the only verifiable documents about AATIP associated with Harry Reid.

So I don’t know, sports fans. If we have to decide whether ONI is fibbing or the Pentagon is, which way are you leaning?

One additional thing to note here is that the response from ONI speaks of a set
of briefing slides and a single video. But if you follow the link and look at Lambright’s FOIA request, you’ll note that it is structured very specifically to request
information relating to UAP encounters happening in relation to the Nimitz battle group over a period from 10-16 November 2004. Having battled through the
FOIA process myself on a number of occasions, I can assure you that the government never, ever
gives up more than they have to under the law. Lambright apparently got exactly
what he asked for, but nothing more.

To put it bluntly, ONI might be sitting on thousands of documents and as many videos. But if they originated from any time prior to November 10, 2004, or any
date from November 17th of 2004 to the present, or if they happened anywhere else in the world
but the Nimitz training exercise area, they would not include those items in the response.

What does that mean? Well, we’ve heard from the pilots involved in both the 2004 Nimitz encounter and the 2015 Roosevelt incident that they’ve been seeing these things “all the time.” This happens frequently enough to alarm
some senior people in
the military and they want answers. If that’s the case, do you really think they only managed to record three (or now possibly four) videos in the past sixteen years (at a minimum)? Unlikely in the extreme.

This is yet another example that’s turned up of the government feeding us bogus information on this subject and being caught. More than likely they have a mountain of evidence and they’re withholding it all. And they’re still lying about it. Mind
you, this still doesn’t automatically mean that any of this has anything to do with extraterrestrials. For example, why was the slide presentation and the other video so classified? Perhaps that evidence might reveal some secret program of ours or the
Russians or the Chinese demonstrating incredible technological advancements. You could understand how that might need to be classified. But without emptying
the bag entirely, they should tell us whether it’s one or the other. And just
as a favor…
