    Notes and Legend
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [from '24 Klangbilder - Imagens sonoras' - Carlo Domeniconi (Berlin 1989)] "Este Klangbild e o primiero ao qual o compositor deu um subtitulo que, neste caso concreto, nos indica o objectivo do mesmo: Estudo em Fortissimo. As principais dificuldades deste estudo prendem-se, contudo, nao apenas com a dinamica (que deve ser fortissima), mas tambem com a velocidade (o compositor indica Presto) e articulacao. Este peca e construida a partir do motivo da primeira frase (cc. 1 a 7), que tem como base a escala pentatonica. Desta forma, toda a peca e desenvolvida a partir destas duas escalas. A seccao final (cc. 25 a 34) reexpoe o tema inicial, acrescentando, no entanto, uma segunda camada sonora com a introducao dos baixos.
    A nivel tecnico, este Klangbild desenvolve o estudo da dinamica em fortissimo, como ja foireferido, e trabalha igualmente o equilibrio sonoro entre todas as notas, uma vez que nao ha oscilacoes dinamicas. E ainda de realcar a utilizacao do efeito de eco (cc. 32 e 33), conseguido atrraves da utilizacao da tecnica
    de sul ponticello."
    [literal English translation from the Portugese]
    "This Klangbild is the first to which the composer gave a subtitle that, in this specific case, tells us the purpose of the same: Study in Fortissimo. The main difficulties of this study, however, relate not only to the dynamics (which must be very strong), but also to the speed (the composer indicates Presto) and articulation. This piece is constructed from the motif of the first phrase (measures 1-7), which is based on the pentatonic scale. In this way, the entire piece is developed from these two scales. The final section (m 25-34) reintroduces the initial theme, but adds a second sound layer with the introduction of the bass.
    At the technical level, this Klangbild develops the study of dynamics in a very strong way, as already mentioned, and works equally the sound balance between all the notes, since there are no dynamic oscillations. Also noteworthy is the use of the echo effect (m 32, 33), achieved through the use of the technique
    of sul ponticello."
    [from the notes accompanying the sheet music - Carlo Domeniconi]
    "Sound figures are a series of small musical pieces indicating forms which as well are to be found in more complex compositions. Therefore they are not to be understood as fragments or sketches but as "Images" or "Figures" preparing most efficiently - because of their shortness and technical facility - the later playing of more complex works."
    "...although the pieces are very easy to play, they demand a lot of control over dynamic and sound, so there is quite a lot to learn from this work." (Norbert Neunzling)
    The sheet music does not have a key signature. The piece is centered around Em. The tempo of the Norbert Neunzling vid and the MIDI is 276 bpm (half notes).
    Notes and Legend
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [an approximate English translation from the Portugese]
    "This Klangbild has similarities to Klangbild 5, in that it also develops in two layers. However, it always presents an accompanying melody, developing the ability to balance and/or highlight the two or the upper voice. At a technical level, it is an excellent piece to develop the use of the thumb, an error that the monitoring must always be performed with this finger. The final measures of the second section still have difficulties at the legato level, since there is a constant alternation between the two voices that requires that, on several occasions, the performer has to leave the fingers of the left hand on the string
    for the effect to be switched on."

    [from the notes accompanying the sheet music - Carlo Domeniconi]
    "Sound figures are a series of small musical pieces indicating forms which as well are to be found in more complex compositions. Therefore they are not to be understood as fragments or sketches but as 'Images' or 'Figures' preparing most efficiently - because of their shortness and technical facility - the later playing of more complex works."

    The sheet music does not have a key signature or a time signature, but the piece is centered around Am/C and appears to be in 2/2 time.
    The order of play is 1-5, 1-5, 6-13, 6-13, 1-5.
